Already in the year 1895, Gustav Wittner founded a precision mechanical factory for the production of Metronomes, which his son Rudolf Wittner expanded one by one to a medium-sized industrial plant.
The Wittner GmbH & Co. enjoys a reputation as one of the highest quality producers of metronomes in the world. After more than a century in the business, their metronomes have been adopted by musicians the world over. The name Taktell, Wittners product line, even came to replace the word metronome in many countries.
Wittner continues to set the standard in metronomes to this day, as they offer models in various sizes and styles all equipped with the latest advancements and improvements. String adjusters, tuning forks, music stands and other musical accessories have also been added to their products over the years. Wittners production has expanded to other areas, and their reputation for quality and reliability has expanded with it.
